do you ever have favorite colors of the moment? i do all the time. but blue is my all-time favorite color, and i go through these phases of which shades of blue i'm attracted to for the moment. as well as other colors. right now my favorite color, purple, is phasing out and deep blue is about to be my new favorite one. i can feel it coming on.

this illustration is about fireflies. i'm about to do a project about fireflies and i look to this illustration style for inspiration since i am not a painter, but boy oh boy...i think i am about to try.

moda (museum of design atlanta) is going to exhibit the greatest t-shirt designs from around the world.

Media Squares

these are 4x4 squares that we have to do in Jeff's Illustration class. we can use any type of medium and paper. i have to say, it's fun. i don't have to think about what i'm doing, you just do it; which is liberating. here are some of my favorites...

: acrylic, water color, tracing paper, rubber cement

midnight thoughts...

For some unknown reason, i feel like i'm going through a total makeover. in every aspect of my life. including design. as i'm experiencing this, one particular quote is repeated in my head: "growth does'nt happen without change; change does'nt happen without fear/loss; fear/loss does'nt happen without pain." i think that is so true. how does this relate to design? maybe we can't grow as a designer unless we change something in the way we design. we have to let go of the old habits to create space for the new ones. maybe we don't want that change because we fear to step outside the box; bc we dont know what's out there; what if we don't succeed with this new change? i don't know. all i know is that if i'm changing as a person then my design must change also, bc i would have a new outlook on life and ultimately our design is simply a reflection of who we are, anyway.

this reminds me of when i use to get my hair done when i was little. Grease used to be a mult-functional tool in our house. my mom used to use it for our hair, on our face to get all the "sleep" out of eye, for our ashy elbows, and on and on.

i really dont know what to say on this blogsite. i guess i'll start with what i think of the classes. i am so interested in these classes, especially advertising. i think that's where i'll fall in eventually, who knows? but as always, i am ready to learn eventhough i'm not really sure what's ahead of me. Pero, we shall see...
